Larry Hughes

Larry Hughes, Vice President, Corporate Human Resources & Chief Diversity Officer Diversity at 7-Eleven, Inc., is the lead human resource officer supporting all corporate functions. He is also responsible for all diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Hughes has also served 7-Eleven as a Zone Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Learning and Development, and Vice President of Franchise Systems. He joined the 7-Eleven enterprise in 2009.  Prior to joining 7-Eleven, Hughes spent many years in various leadership roles with great retailers and hospitality brands like Bath & Body Works and KFC Restaurants.

 

His educational background includes earning a Doctor of Education in Human and Organizational Learning from the George Washington University, a Master of Business Administration in Strategy and Managerial/Organizational Behavior from the University of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Following his graduation from West Point, he spent 8 years as a Field Artillery Officer.  In 2021, he published the book, “Challenging Goliath: Leadership Lessons from the Life of King David,” which explores leadership truths drawn from the life of one of the most widely known figures in the Bible.

 

He lives in Frisco, Texas with his wife of nearly 36 years, Angela.  They have two adult children. Larry is an active volunteer with Bible Study Fellowship in North Texas, serves on the National Board of Directors of the Armed Services YMCA, and is a member of the Texas Medical Board’s Physician’s Assistant Regulatory Board.
