Your life verse!

Be the Dad

Fulfilling purpose

Last week in our devotional we discussed the need to understand your kingdom purpose in your life. There can be several along the way but, there usually is one overriding purpose. And God wants to grant you success to fulfill the desires of your heart and to fulfill your purpose, to be a fruitful branch.

I suggest that in order to do this well, there needs to be at least one, maybe a few, compelling life verse(s) that directs you and keeps you focused on your purpose. A few decades ago, I was searching for a way to live victoriously one day at a time. As I was praying and seeking God’s direction, he led me clearly to Matthew 6.33,34. This became my primary life verse, actually two, and still is today.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”

Ordained purpose

While this verse might not seem like a purpose driven truth; for me, it is the overriding mindset for me to follow the Lord as best I can through the power and presence of his Holy Spirit. He is telling me that if I will seek him and his righteousness, I don’t have to worry about food, clothing, shelter, any of these important things for survival, but that he will provide. So, then my mind, my heart, my soul can be fully directed toward his purpose for me…today, and all the days he has ordained for me. So, what’s yours?

P.S. God has fulfilled his part in spades!! He is faithful to his truth. Praise!
