Go and tell!

Be the Dad

Salvation

After you receive salvation by grace through faith, what would be your obvious number one mission? Well, actually, it is a two-part mission. Singing praises to his name and telling others of his salvation. There’s not really another option provided in scripture. That is, unless you want to be disobedient and rob yourself of eternal joy. Once I learned to share the gospel, someone told me there was not a joy greater than personally experiencing someone receiving salvation. Going from lost to saved in one moment! And later, I started experiencing just what he had said.

And it is especially meaningful if it is your children and grandchildren. The writer of Chronicles goes on to say, “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the people! For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised.”

In my exercise program today, I was listening to a song by Casting Crowns, among several others. I don’t think I’ve ever heard it. But it really hit me personally. ‘Nobody’ is the title. And the words really fit me, and maybe some of you. Try listening to it, and seeing if you can resonate with the words.

‘Cause I’m a nobody, trying to tell everybody

all about Somebody who saved my soul…

I’m living for the world to see NOBODY BUT JESUS’

His name is Jesus

It’s really that simple. Us nobodies telling everybody about somebody who saved us, and his name is Jesus. I remember many experiences in Cuba years ago on evangelism trips with East-West Ministries. One really stands out. It was late one afternoon, it was hot and I was ready go to the bus. But my counterpart said, ‘let’s go down one more street’. We came to a home with two men sitting on the porch. They invited us up, I shared the gospel and a few minutes later the elderly father and his son trusted Christ. These were his words. ‘All my life I have wondered who my Savior was and now I know his name is Jesus.’ What an inexpressible joy! Go and tell!!!
