About a month ago, I was diagnosed with A Fib heart flutter. I had fainted, had a high and erratic heartbeat. This led me to have a heart ablation procedure last week to get my heart back into rhythm. The cardiologist explained that he would be creating scar tissue on a certain part of my heart to stop the irregular electrical charges causing the flutter. He laser burned this tissue, thus creating a scar. The procedure went very well, and the mission was accomplished. This scarring brought healing to my heart. So grateful for the countless prayers that were spoken on my behalf, and for Joanne.<\/p>\n
As I was reflecting today on this and the Advent of Jesus, I was reminded that Jesus was wounded for our transgressions. The scars from the scourging, the crown of thorns, the nail holes and the spear into his side brought healing to our spiritual life. Thus,\u00a0\u201cby his stripes we were healed\u201d.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0These wound marks were clearly visible to those to whom he appeared after his resurrection. Thomas was even invited to put his finger in his side to provide proof.<\/p>\n And Jesus took these scars back to his rightful place in Heaven. They are constant and eternal reminders, evidence of his healing for us through the suffering by him. My scar provided healing to my physical heart. Jesus\u2019 scars provided healing for my\/our spiritual heart, our soul. While I might boast of this successful medical procedure, I am reminded that my true boasting is in the scarring of my Savior.\u00a0\u201cBut God forbid that I should boast, except in the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Scarring About a month ago, I was diagnosed with A Fib heart flutter.
