Today at church a man walked up to me as we were entering the sanctuary. John was one of the first men to complete the training of Abiding<\/em> Fathers at our church six years ago. He began to tell me how impactful the series had been to him. He said that the chapter on blessing had had such a significant influence on his life. He shared that he had prepared messages of blessing for his children when they were graduating from high school. John said that he barely could get through the presentations because it was so emotional for him.<\/p>\n John went on to say that he has also started blessing his parents at special occasions. He iterated that it is so very important to let your parents know what they have meant to you while they\u2019re still living. That encounter certainly blessed my day. It made me pause and reflect on the Father\u2019s blessing. It was introduced early on. God created man in his own image and then blessed them this way.<\/p>\n \u201cBe fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n God created mankind and he was turning his creation over to them. The blessing assured them that they had the authority to accomplish that which was spoken in the blessing. He provided hope for the first man and woman who had never experienced what they were about to face. God had their back, and he wanted them to know it.<\/p>\n Same with your children. Dads, you are your children\u2019s \u2018hope dispenser<\/em>‘\u00a0facing a world each day they have never experienced. Speak and write letters of blessing to them, and as John reminded us, don\u2019t forget your parents.
