I want us to try as best as we can to grasp the incredible nature and power of God. Majestic is an adjective of the noun majesty defined as sovereignty, authority, power, dominion, supremacy, magnificence, splendor, awesomeness. The Psalmist is saying that the\u00a0Lord\u2019s name<\/em>\u00a0is majestic all over the world. How could he say that? Because as a shepherd boy, out at night without any city lights to dim the heavenlies, he witnessed this brilliance and he could imagine it was for all the people on earth to see.<\/p>\n He also penned Psalm 19. It starts:\u00a0\u201cThe heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Earlier he had said that the Lord\u2019s glory was actually above these heavens. Bigger, greater, even more, majestic than that which the Lord created. We must remember that God\u00a0spoke<\/em>\u00a0creation into existence. Imagine the power of his word. He didn\u2019t take a piece of clay or whatever and shape it\u2014he simply\u00a0spoke\u00a0<\/em>and it came about.<\/p>\n In John 1.1-5, the New Testament Genesis 1, it declares that the Word (Jesus Christ the Son) was there creating everything, by him and for him. Colossians 1. 16 spells it out clearly. The Spirit writes:\u00a0\u201cFor by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him and He is before all things, and in Him, all things consist.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n This is the God who has given us his word, the Bible. All scripture is inspired, Spirit-filled, powerful. Can we not trust every word completely? Go out tonight and just look up!
