For many men, weeping or crying is sissy.\u00a0How many boys grew up hearing from their dads; \u201cmen don\u2019t cry\u201d.\u00a0The damage from these words\u00a0is overwhelmingly negative.\u00a0Do you remember QB Colt McCoy in his\u00a0postgame\u00a0interview after he had been injured and could not play the majority of the National Championship?\u00a0Texas lost to Alabama. Fighting through tears, Colt gave praise and honor to the Lord.\u00a0Thousands of positive messages from everywhere came flooding in.\u00a0His gracious poise, through tears of disappointment and emotion, was so powerful.<\/p>\n
Don\u2019t tell me men can\u2019t cry. Look at our Lord,\u00a0viewing his close friend Lazarus who had died. He cried, wept!\u00a0Not over Lazarus\u2019 death as he knew he could raise him. But he\u00a0wept silent tears for\u00a0the\u00a0sisters and the mourners.\u00a0These were\u00a0tears of compassion.\u00a0Who would question the manhood of Jesus?\u00a0Journey to the entry into Jerusalem\u00a0in the last week before the cross.\u00a0\u201cNow as\u00a0He drew near,\u00a0He saw the city and wept\u00a0over\u00a0it\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0(Lk. 19.41\u00a0NKJV).<\/p>\n As for the lost in our world, hear this:\u00a0\u201cThose who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>(Psa. 126.5\/6 NKJV).<\/p>\n Tears of grief, compassion, loss, even joy,\u00a0can flood our souls\u00a0at different times.\u00a0it should be natural. It is in and through it, there\u00a0comes\u00a0healing.\u00a0Weeping with someone may be all that is needed.\u00a0When is the last time you teared up?\u00a0Do you remember the occasion? Men, dads, may you never once say to your sons\u00a0that men don\u2019t cry.
