The last days
We are in what is spoken of in scripture as the ’latter days’ or the ‘last days’. This is the period before Christ’s return. Satan and the Antichrist will be extremely active seeking to blind people from truth, even the Church. Paul, in his second letter to Timothy, warns of this. He calls them ‘perilous times’. I think it’s worthy of sharing what will be prevalent in the world.
“For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power” (2 Tim. 3.2-5).
The true message
See any of this in our culture today? Every Spirit-filled believer in Christ has the message. What is it; what is yours? Paul’s message to the Corinthians is clearly ours also. As I see it, especially in America, the gospel has been diluted, and the message is more social reform than it is truth. Today, as never before, we need to start sending the true message of the gospel to a confused, blinded, and dying world.
The gospel according to 1 Corinthians 15.1-5 is: “Christ died for your sins and rose from the dead”. That’s the good news that has saved you and me, and countless billions. We are Jesus’ messengers. Are we delivering his gospel to a lost and dying generation? If not, why not? He gave his life, why don’t we give him our best? Pray that God will lead you to someone this week to whom you may share the gospel.
