Spiritual armor

Have you ever stopped to really study the armor that God provides? We wouldn’t need armor if we weren’t in a battle or in a global war. If there were no enemies, why would you need to be protected? And this is not a physical armor that God provides, but a spiritual one. Our battle is against spiritual powers over this present darkness and spiritual forces in the heavenly places. God understands what it takes for us to be victorious. So, what are these?

· Belt of truth
· Breastplate of righteousness
· Feet shod with the gospel of peace
· Shield of faith
· Helmet of salvation
· Sword of the Spirit, the word of God

If you analyze these carefully, all but the sword of the Spirit are defensive. And if you really look closely, they are for protecting your front. Indicating that as you are moving forward in this battle for the hearts and souls of men and God’s kingdom, you are protected. If you were to turn and retreat, the armor does not protect you. You are sitting ducks.

Prayer

And the Spirit through Paul tells us how to fit these on our life for the spiritual battles of each day. PRAYER!!! “praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints (vs. 18). This includes yourself, your immediate and extended family, your friends, enemies, the Church, governmental leaders, whomever God places on your heart at any given time. So, pray up, armor up, take the sword, and move out, secure in his promises. Victory is assured!!
