Salvation

Here, Jesus was speaking of salvation and the difficulty of a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. But it goes further than that. It really applies to everything. God is Sovereign. He is Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. It stands to reason that nothing escapes him or can be accomplished without his approval. Satan learned that when he appeared before God concerning Job.

As I observe the issues in America over the past several decades, and most certainly 2020, it is tempting to become despondent, to lose hope. At the very core of the issues is the fatherless homes brought about by organized groups, welfare and the lack of concern by countless fathers. The nuclear family was designed by God from the beginning so that his created beings could prosper. The man was to leave his father and mother and ‘cleave’ to his wife. Cleave is a strong word. Oneness is central to its meaning.

Fatherhood

God is always out ahead of us, putting in place the solution to all of our waywardness. Fatherhood may have been shoved to the back row in our society, but not in God’s mind and heart. He loves the family. It was created in the image of the Triune God. Adam was told to procreate, fill the earth, subdue it and rule over it.

Abiding Fathers is just one ministry created by our Lord to restore the family by re-engaging the dads. A mighty wind is blowing against his plan, but with God, all things are possible. He is implementing Malachi 4.6 bigtime! “And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers” Pray that God will once again, do the impossible!!
