Making an impact
Rodney, a dad in Florida was introduced to From Faith to Faith material on a trip here to the Promise Keepers weekend conference last summer. He traveled a long way, probably as far as most that were in attendance. He came by the Abiding Fathers’ booth and got the book and study guide. About a month ago, I heard from him saying that he had studied the material two or three times and wanted to disciple some of the dads in his local church. He acquired some material and last week he contacted us to pray for his study as he only had three people registered, including himself. We got another correspondence Tuesday that five people showed up and three more are coming next week. He was praising God.
But what he also said really spoke volumes to me. “Surpassed expectations…..that is an understatement!!!…one of these guys drives 90 minutes each way!!! Can you believe it??? He has seven kids too. Think about the impact we will be making in his family alone!!!!” Amen. Rodney traveled hundreds of miles to Dallas and this dad of seven is traveling an hour and a half to learn how to be an abiding father.
Abundant life
It started me thinking about how far Jesus came to reveal his kingdom here on earth. You can’t count it in miles or minutes. His descended from heaven into the womb of a virgin and then walked for 33 years on earth, eventually going all the way, by giving his life as a ransom for many. He came that we might have life and have it more abundantly and he came that those who believe would have eternal life.
