Dads. You Matter.

This is part 4 of the ‘Offender Series’.

Welcome to the Be The Dad Podcast. We’re going to listen and learn from incarcerated men, many who have felt the effects of having an absentee father. These men have been taught about the importance of the role of a father, through reading the book From Faith to Faith, which is an acronym meaning from fathers absent in the home to fathers abiding in the home. These men have graduated in the program From Faith to Faith. Listen to Curt’s heart-felt message and what he’s learned from the curriculum.

Here’s a summary. I’d like to share about what Abiding Fathers meant to me. As I thought about what I wanted to share, I thought about what the overall theme was. I thought about a scripture. In Psalms 51:10-11 it says, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.” As I thought about the overall theme, it was about a cleansing, it was God speaking to my heart, it was the Bible becoming real through a book, it was a testimony from men each and every night that made being a dad come alive in ways that it hasn’t since I’ve been locked up. Whether you are a dad or have a son, the important thing to me is that ‘You Matter’. I learned that ‘I matter’. That’s my message to you. You matter to that very important child.

Listen to the podcast for more details and how Curt’s son forgave him for the years of being away from him.

Dads, if you’d like to read the book From Faith to Faith, download the ebook here. Stay tuned  next week for Part 5 of the ‘Offender Series’.
