During his 50-year career in the real estate industry, in 1986, Bill C. Dotson founded Dallas Real Estate Ministries (DREM.org) with 11 other men and served as its Executive Director until 2009. In 2011, he founded Abiding Fathers (abidingfathers.org) and served as its President until 2023. In 2024, at the encouragement of Christian friends, Bill founded life–today.org.

Bill has published Life Speaks to Us, a 30-day devotional reflecting on life lessons from God’s creations, as well as currently writing Life Today online messages addressing fatherhood and current issues. Additionally, he has written and published Revival of Repentance; The Three Crucial Commands of Christ with a Promise; From Faith to Faith-Fathers, are you absent or abiding?; The Journey from Fathers to Dads; Life Today-a 40-day devotional; and Victory Through Prayer.

For over 50 years, Bill has taught the Bible and his fatherhood material weekly in Texas prisons, Union Gospel Mission, Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center, as well as Men of Nehemiah, churches and the marketplace. He has equipped hundreds of facilitators for Abiding Fathers in Dallas, across Texas, in Canada, Africa and India. These experiences have convinced Bill that the number one issue in America today, as well as across the world, is the absentee father in the home.

Bill has served as a Deacon and Elder in Highland Park Presbyterian Church, plus he has taught several Sunday School classes over the years. Bill lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife, Joanne. They have two daughters, five grandchildren (two married), and five great grandchildren. He and Joanne worship at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas.
