2021 Legacy Luncheon | Dr. Parker

Dr. Jeffery Parker, Pastor of the House of Prayer Word Outreach in Dallas, Texas, was born September 7, 1963, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was educated in the Caddo Parrish School District and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1981. Upon graduation, Pastor Parker entered the armed forces and received an honorable discharge from the U.S Army after serving thirteen years. While in the military, he attended Louisiana State University, where he majored in Business and minored in Psychology.

Pastor Parker moved to Dallas, Texas, where he met and later married Andrea Bowman on July 16, 1994. Together, they have five children, one deceased. On March 8, 1998, they joined Fellowship Bible Church South (FBCS) under the leadership of Dr. Dennis McDonald, Pastor. Being raised in the Methodist Church, Parker was no stranger to the body of Christ. At FBCS, he was active in the sanctuary choir and taught Sunday school. It was there in December of 1998 that he received the call into the preaching ministry. He was ordained on February 25, 2001, and began his seminary training at Tyndale Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Graduating second in his class, Pastor Parker holds a master’s in theological studies and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Vision University.

In April of 2003, he was called to plant a church in House of Prayer Word Outreach Rowlett, Texas, where he currently presides. By the grace of God, he has also planted 55 churches and two schools in Liberia, West Africa.

Parker has been active in prison ministry for 22 years, four years with the Bill Glass Ministry. In 2004 he began to volunteer with Restoration Outreach of Dallas (R.O.D), and in 2008 became the Director of After Care. He currently serves as Executive Director of R.O.D ministries.
